Intuit Connect 2026: What Accountants Should Ask About Intuit's AI Agents

What's coming: Intuit Connect runs October 26–28, 2026 in Las Vegas, the same week as Wolters Kluwer's CCH Connections (October 25–28, Orlando). Thomson Reuters Synergy follows on November 16–19. All three are showing agentic AI. CPA Trendlines reports that accountants worry these strategies "could encroach on a firm's client relationships" (CPA Trendlines).
Why it matters: this is the last Connect before QuickBooks Online Accountant retires on December 31, 2026, and firms move to Intuit Accountant Suite (our migration plan). Whatever Intuit shows on stage will shape the tool most US small firms work in next year.

The three things to watch at Connect
1. Pricing: per seat, per client, or per use?
Intuit told investors in May it would move AI and expert services to usage-based pricing, and that early tests showed the strongest adoption among more complex Advanced and Plus customers (Constellation Research). For a firm, that raises a practical question: who pays when an agent works on a client's books, the firm or the client?
2. Who owns the client relationship?
Intuit's agents work directly inside your clients' QuickBooks files. They talk to customers, chase payments and categorize transactions. That's the encroachment worry CPA Trendlines describes. Watch for how Intuit routes advisory work: to the firm, or to Intuit's own experts.
3. Your data and other AI tools

Questions to ask Intuit (at Connect or your account rep)
- What do the agents cost, and is usage billed to the firm or the client?
- Which agents are generally available versus beta, and on which Accountant Suite tier (Core or Accelerate)?
- Can the firm approve or block agent actions on client files, and is every action logged?
- How is client data used to train or improve Intuit's models, and can firms opt out?
- How do agent-generated entries show up in review, so you can tell the AI's work from the client's?
- What changes on January 20, 2027, when the new paid partner tiers start (our QBOA guide)?

Connect week is also a good time to benchmark Intuit against other options:
- Xero's JAX AI and the Melio deal for firms considering a switch
- QuickBooks AI agents for accountants, our earlier deep dive
- TaxDome vs Karbon vs Canopy for practice-management AI
- Best AI bookkeeping software
We'll update this guide with confirmed announcements after Connect.
