Short answer: for fast, cheap enhancement of everyday listings (HDR, white balance, sky replacement), Autoenhance.ai costs as little as $0.29 a photo on its Essential plan, with free watermarked previews. For one-off fixes done by people, like item removal or day-to-dusk on a hero shot, BoxBrownie charges $2 per enhancement, $5 for day-to-dusk and $10 for item removal. REimagineHome is the most flexible AI tool (declutter, object removal, sky, staging, redesign) from $14 a month, but expect some retries.

1. Autoenhance.ai: best AI enhancement at volume

Price:

  • Essential: $29 a month for 100 images, a limited-time 50% discount from $58. Extra images are $0.29 each, unused credits roll over, and images are saved for 45 days.
  • Pay per image: $0.75 each, invoiced monthly.

You can preview every enhancement free with a watermark, without an account, and pay only for downloads (Autoenhance.ai pricing).

Features: HDR bracket merge, sky replacement, perspective correction, window pulling, white balance, relighting, RAW support, automatic privacy blurring and 360° enhancements, at up to 6K resolution.

What users say: a small sample (3.1 from 10 reviews). Photographers praised Version 5 as a big improvement in October 2025. But two September 2026 reviewers said results can look "too AI-generated" and may alter small details and text, and called it fine for fast, low-end listings but not yet for higher-end work (Trustpilot).

Best for: agents and photographers editing lots of standard listing photos. Use the free previews to check that your style holds up.

2. BoxBrownie: best per-photo human edits

Price: Image enhancement $2, day-to-dusk $5, item removal and virtual cleaning $10 ($5 for one or two small items) and virtual staging $30 per photo. New accounts get 3 enhancements and 1 day-to-dusk free, no card required (BoxBrownie pricing).

Human vs AI: in a September 2026 reply on Trustpilot, BoxBrownie said its staging is done by human editors. That's the main reason to pay more than AI-only tools: a person handles tricky edits.

What users say: 4.4 from 347 reviews, but only 4 in the past year. Older reviews praise fast turnaround and value. Recent complaints (2025–2026) mention ignored instructions, missed removals, slow redos and a reviewer who felt a free AI tool did better on staging. BoxBrownie replies to every negative review, though often after more than a month (Trustpilot).

Best for: a few high-impact fixes per listing: the hero shot at dusk, removing a bin or a car, cleaning up a cluttered room.

3. REimagineHome: most flexible AI toolkit

Price: plans run $14 to $99 a month:

  • Essential: 30 credits a month
  • Pro: 200 credits, with conversational design, reference photos and faster rendering
  • Advanced: 400 credits
  • Agency: 900 credits

Most edits use 1 credit (2 if they include real-product matching). There are 5 free designs, no card required, and you can cancel anytime (REimagineHome pricing).

Features: object removal, "Empty Your Space" decluttering, image enhancement and upscaling, sky replacement, day-to-dusk, lawn replacement, repainting walls, and virtual staging and redesign. It's one tool that covers both photo fixes and staging. REimagineHome is run by Styldod.

What users say: too few recent reviews to judge (a single 2026 review, 3 stars, complained of needing several tries to get the result they wanted) (Trustpilot).

Best for: agents who want to declutter, fix skies and stage from one subscription, and don't mind iterating.

Stay on the right side of disclosure rules

AI edits that change what a buyer would see need care:

  • Fine everywhere: color correction, HDR, straightening, brightening, replacing a gray sky.
  • Disclose: virtual staging, removing furniture or clutter, day-to-dusk conversions, lawn replacement.
  • Don't do: remove permanent features (power lines, cracks, a neighboring building) or alter views, floors or fixtures.

California already requires disclosure of digitally altered listing photos, and Wisconsin's Act 69 takes effect in 2027 (our disclosure rules guide; Wisconsin Act 69). Label edited photos and keep the originals.

FAQ

How much does real estate photo editing cost?

With AI, about $0.29–$0.75 a photo for basic enhancement. Human-edited services like BoxBrownie charge $2 for enhancement and $5–$10 for dusk conversions or item removal.

Can AI remove furniture from listing photos?

Yes. REimagineHome's "Empty Your Space" and BoxBrownie's virtual cleaning both do it. Disclose the edit and keep the original photo.

Is AI photo editing good enough for luxury listings?

Recent reviewers say AI-only enhancement can look artificial on high-end homes. Many agents use AI for volume and a professional photographer or editor for luxury listings.
