Short answer: NowCerts is the best value for small agencies, with published prices from $99 a month and a free start. EZLynx has the most developed AI assistant among small-agency systems (EVA account summaries, email drafting and after-hours text replies) plus a built-in comparative rater, but you'll need a quote. HawkSoft wins on loyalty and support, but doesn't publish prices or promote AI features. Add AgencyZoom on top of any of them if you want a dedicated sales pipeline (from $99 a month for 7 seats).

Price (per month):
- Essentials: $99, 1 user
- Professional: $169, 2 users
- Business: $349, 5 users
- Enterprise: 50+ users, quote
Extra users are $45 each on every plan. Every plan includes client and policy management, ACORD forms, workflows, a sales pipeline, a renewal center, billing and commission reconciliation, and an insured portal. IVANS carrier downloads are a $35 add-on on the lower tiers. Storage runs from 10 GB to 1 TB. Annual payment adds a 13th-month fee (NowCerts pricing).
AI: NowCerts lists an "AI/Automation center" in its suite but doesn't publish what it does. Ask for a demo of the specific AI features before you count on them.
2. EZLynx: best built-in AI
Price: not published. A third-party review by Sonant, which sells an AI receptionist that integrates with EZLynx, reports pricing "starting at $350/month," scaling with modules, last verified June 2026 (Sonant). Get a quote.
AI: EZLynx's assistant, EVA, has added features in stages:
- January 2025: account summaries (one week to three months of emails, texts and notes, with suggested next steps), email drafting with tone and length controls, and product help (Applied Systems).
- Late 2025: summaries available inside Outlook and Gmail, after-hours text replies to customers, and a beta of AI quote autofill from PDFs, handwritten notes and voice recordings (Insurance Journal, sponsored by EZLynx).
EZLynx is part of Applied Systems, which also makes Applied Epic (see our Applied Epic and Conductor guide for larger agencies).
Watch for: after-hours AI texting must follow consent and opt-out rules (AI voice and texting under the TCPA).
3. HawkSoft: best for support and loyalty
HawkSoft doesn't publish prices or promote AI features on its homepage. Its pitch is service: it reports a 97% recommendation rate, 97% first-call resolution and an average customer tenure of 18 years (company figures). It highlights retention alerts, lead management, cross-sell reports and agency metrics (HawkSoft).
Best for: agencies that value a stable system and responsive support over the newest AI, and will add AI through separate tools like an AI receptionist.
4. AgencyZoom: add a sales pipeline
Price (per month, with 7 seats included): Single Location Agency $99, Multiple Location $129, Essential $149, Growth $199 and Pro $349. Annual billing saves 20%, and there's a 14-day free trial (AgencyZoom pricing). The pricing page doesn't list AI features.
Best for: agencies whose AMS handles servicing well but whose producers need pipeline management, automated follow-up and sales tracking.
AI in your agency: rules to know
- Insurers' AI rules reach agencies through carrier contracts. See the NAIC model AI bulletin.
- AI calls and texts need consent under the TCPA (our guide).
- Client data in AI summaries must stay within your privacy obligations. Review vendor data terms before enabling them.
