How We Research
We don't run a test lab, and we won't pretend to. We do the homework most people skip before they pay for software, and we show our work.
What we do for every tool
Read the pricing page and the terms. Then we work out what it really costs: per photo, per client or per month, including annual lock-ins and add-ons.
Read the reviews, not the star rating. Trustpilot, G2, app stores and professional forums. One angry review is noise. Twenty about the same billing problem is a pattern.
Check the rules. If a tool can get you into trouble (disclosure laws, privacy, professional ethics), we find the actual rule and link to it.
Link everything. Every guide ends with its sources and shows the date we last checked the prices and facts.
How we pick winners
The tool that does the job best for your profession wins. Price matters, complaint patterns matter, and compliance risk matters. Whether a company pays us doesn't.
What we won't do
- Say we tested something we didn't
- Invent quotes, reviewers or "users"
- Sell rankings or sponsored spots
